This new position serves graduate and doctoral students in health programs at the Mesa, Arizona campus of A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. The purpose of this position is to enrich academic performance by providing students of graduate health sciences, medical and dental programs with opportunities for cognitive skill development. Significant responsibilities will include the provision of testing services for students with accommodations.
Minimal requirements include a Master’s degree, preferably in education or a related field and at least three years experience advising college or graduate students.Experience needed to perform the work includes academic advising, student mentoring, instruction and program presentation. The successful candidate will be compassionate, assertive, confidential and collaborative.
Knowledge areas include adult learning, cognitive development and vocational choices. An ability to coordinate study skills assessment and tutoring are necessary. A working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act is important. Excellent writing, communication skills, budgeting and activity reports are expected.
