The University Director of the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Innovations and will help further the University’s efforts to fulfill the ATSU Board’s mandate to further enhance the our learning-centered University through the establishment of the TLC. The vision of the TLC is to promote student education through innovative pedagogical methodologies and supportive technology that will serve both residential and online curricular programs.


The responsibilities of the University Director of the Teaching & Learning Center will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:


  • Develop a clear mission statement to guide the organization and growth of the TLC with its focus on the encouragement of faculty pedagogical and technological skills for enhancing student learning.
  • Develop a structured implementation plan for the establishment of the TLC including clear assessment mechanisms for the evaluation of its relative success.
  • Secure broad faculty, support staff, and student input for the proposed activities of the TLC.
  • Identify planning and support services for the TLC.
  • Operationalize the TLC beginning with the preparation of a detailed TLC budget.

Skills / Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following skills and accomplishments:

  •  An earned doctorate.
  •  A minimum of five years of administrative experience in health professions higher education.
  •  Background in introducing pedagogical and technological innovations
  •  Background in residential, online and distance learning programs
