Job Description

A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU) seeks a dynamic leader to fill the role of vice president of university advancement.

Established in 1892, ATSU is the original founding institution of osteopathic healthcare. As a leading health sciences university, ATSU is comprised of six college/schools and offers 23 best-of-class health profession degree programs on two campuses (Kirksville, Mo. and Mesa, Ariz.). []

The vice president of university advancement is responsible for guiding and leading all aspects of the university advancement department including development (fundraising), alumni relations, communication and marketing, and the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine. Reporting to the president, the vice president will work in collaboration with the president, Board of Trustees, and senior management team and deans to advance the University’s mission and vision.

Skills / Requirements

Qualified candidates will need a minimum of ten years of experience, having served in a leadership position and experienced a high degree of success in major gift cultivation and solicitation. A master’s degree is preferred, and a proven track record of being a results oriented advancement professional with progressively responsible positions is required. The successful applicant must have also demonstrated experience in planning and executing capital and comprehensive fundraising campaigns at institutions of higher education. This position will be located on the Mesa, Ariz., campus and will require frequent travel to the Kirksville, Mo., campus and additional expansion locations as well as nationally to lead a program of major and leadership giving.
