Established in 2013, ATSU-MOSDOH offers an innovative curriculum with an emphasis on public health, leadership, and practice. Only the second dental school in the state, ATSU-MOSDOH addresses the oral healthcare disparities in Missouri and across the nation. In addition to the issues of oral health and the skills of dentistry, students learn from and are encouraged to become caring, community-minded healthcare providers. Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Research, Special Projects and Initiatives. This is a full-time faculty position based on the Kirksville, MO, campus. The general purpose of this position is as follows:

  • Develop and promote research/scholarly activities within MOSDOH and between students and faculty
  • Collaborate with the associate director to oversee the development and administration of continuing education at MOSDOH
  • Develop and implement programs to promote MOSDOH's innovative and creative model
  • Support the development, enrichment, and advancement of staff, students, and faculty
  • Engage in activities that directly support MOSDOH's accreditation site visit
  • Support local, regional and national affiliations including opportunities for interprofessional education
  • Assist the dean's executive team as needed to promote MOSDOH initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean

Skills / Requirements

Qualified applicants must have:

  • A doctorate degree with at least ten years experience
  • Knowledge of grant writing, research protocol and preparation of manuscripts
  • Knowledge of understanding statistics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent mentoring and leadership skills
  • Writing and editing skills
