The Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health (MOSDOH) is seeking applicants for the position of Specialty Care Unit Director, Oral Pathology to be located in St. Louis, MO.  This position will report directly to the Vice Dean, Clinical Education, Operations, and Community Partnerships.

Position Summary:

Manage and mentor MOSDOH students to assure attainment of clinical competency.  Teach students the fundamentals of oral pathology, oral medicine, and oral and maxillofacial radiology.

Mentoring and evaluating student in oral pathology. Establish procedures for oral pathology including procedural guidance in oral medicine and oral maxillofacial radiology. Coordinate with CCU Directors and Vice Dean, Clinical Education, Operations & Community Partnerships for student experiences. Complete administrative reports as directed. Assurance of all students and patient safety - reporting deficiencies to Vice Dean, Clinical Education, Operations & Community Partnerships. Assure clinical competency for students in oral pathology, oral medicine and oral maxillofacial radiology. Provide indirect supervision of dental assistant(s) and facilitate performance review evaluations with input from Clinic Operations Manager. Provide didactic and laboratory instruction to pre-clinical students in area of oral pathology and with additional didactic and clinical instruction in oral medicine, urgent care and oral maxillofacial radiology.

Travel to Kirksville will be required.  A current Missouri State Dental License is also required.

Skills / Requirements

Skills & Experience:

DDS, DMD, or other specialty certificate required. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to be self-directed and take initiative. Must be highly skilled in oral pathology with experience in oral medicine and oral maxillofacial radiology.
