Pay: from $14.42/hour

Vacation and Paid Time Off of 10 days of vacation annually. Paid Holidays. Medical Leave ATSU grants up to 10 days per calendar year for illness of short or temporary duration. Health Care Insurance is available: The health insurance program is a comprehensive major medical program, which includes a pharmacy plan, and if elected, dental coverage. Three plan options are available and dependent coverage is available for the families of employees, with the College sharing in the cost of premiums. Retirement after 1 year of employment.

Job Description

The ATSU-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health announces the opening of a senior administrative assistant.  The senior administrative assistant will provide assistance to the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of MOSDOH.  S/he will assist with communications of the program and will handle and process confidential information in a professional manner.  As such, s/he will provide clerical and general office support that contributes to the accomplishment of the goals of MOSDOH.  Major job duties include:

  • Word processing: answering phone and screening calls; sorting and prioritizing mail; scheduling appointments and maintaining calendar; making travel arrangements; ordering office supplies; processing travel advances, reimbursements and expense reports
  • Facilitate contact between faculty, administrators, and Vice Dean
  • Write and/or finalize reports, minutes, and correspondence
  • Maintain files, reports, and records
  • Coordinate meetings, make appropriate reservations, food arrangements and cleanup, contact meeting attendees, and prepare associated materials
  • Attend meetings, take and prepare minutes, and distribute to appropriate personnel
  • Create, administer and run reports on course and instructor evaluations
  • Update the MOSDOH policy manual
  • Assist with ceremonies and special events
  • Other duties as assigned

The applicant must be a team player, willing to work independently and closely with others; be of even temperament; and especially be willing to treat students, staff and faculty in collegial manner.  S/he must have strong prioritization abilities, be able to juggle several projects while meeting deadlines.  S/he must represent ATSU in a highly professional manner, both internally and externally.

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Four year degree or a combination of knowledge and experience
  • 2-3 prior years of experience in a university or healthcare professional institution
  • Project/program management experience, secretarial/office management experience and proven track record in a highly productive professional setting
  • Polished written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Organizational skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Writing, proofing, editing abilities
  • Professional office and phone etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task
