Job Description

The Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health is seeking a full-time dental hygienist to join the clinical faculty at the rank of Instructor with responsibilities in teaching, research and service in support of the mission and goals of ASDOH and ATSU.  ASDOH is dedicated to educating caring, technically adept dentists who become community and education leaders serving those in need.

This clinical faculty member’s primary role is to provide direct patient care in all phases of dental hygiene. They will report to the Director of Periodontics, and work closely with other clinic Directors to implement a periodontal maintenance program to support ASDOH clinics. In addition, they will have clinical teaching responsibilities including clinical supervision of predoctoral students who are assigned as dental providers for maintenance patients. Other key expectations include a commitment to diversity, social justice, and promotion of the mission of ASDOH including an atmosphere of respect, collegiality and professionalism.

Requirements and Preferences:

  • Education: Baccalaureate degree in Dental Hygiene from an institution accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA); Master’s degree in relevant area preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two year clinical experience in dental hygiene is required; academic experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Valid Arizona Dental Hygiene License and Local Anesthesia Certification are required; Nitrous Oxide Analgesia Certification is preferred.
