Job Description

The Director of Didactic Education, Department of Physician Assistant Studies oversees the didactic portion of the program. This individual works closely with the faculty and students to ensure continuous development and improvements. 

  • Providing continuous planning, review, revision and development of the program
  • Coordinating and scheduling didactic classes
  • Teaching, evaluating, and counseling students
  • Reviewing all course syllabi and exams from didactic instructors
  • Reviewing, maintaining, and updating the didactic handbook
  • Providing on-going faculty development and peer assistance in the classroom
  • Preparing administrative reports as needed
  • Assisting with students who are having academic difficulty
  • Providing continuous updates and review of all didactic course material
  • Providing security for course examination materials
  • Reviewing all examination grades to identify academically at-risk students
  • Advising the program director of any problems related to behavior, academics or professionalism
  • Maintaining professional development
  • Other duties as assigned by department chair

Skills / Requirements

  • Masters degree or higher preferred.
  • At least three years of healthcare experience
  • At least five years of educational experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Current NCCPA certification and/or AZ state license
