ASHS - Director of the AFA Balance & Hearing Institute and Assistant/Associate or Full Professor
Position: The Department of Audiology at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) is seeking to fill one full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty/clinic director position with rank (assistant, associate, or full professor) and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The clinic director will oversee the university audiology clinic, the Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) Balance & Hearing Institute.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess a doctoral degree (AuD, PhD, or equivalent degree) and be licensed or eligible for audiology licensure in Arizona. Candidates must have audiology clinical experience and advanced knowledge in areas of audiology practice, experience with business planning and practice management, experience supervising students, interest in research/scholarship, strong interpersonal communication skills, and strong computer skills. Prior independent practice in audiology, vestibular expertise, a sustained record of scholarly productivity, and evidence of professional and community service are also viewed as favorable for this position.
Duties of the position:
- Practice/business management of the ATSU AFA Balance & Hearing Institute, including practice development, personnel management, marketing, budgeting, coordination of billing and financial reports
- Development and documentation of clinical policies and protocols
- Provision and/or oversight of a full range of clinical services (adult and pediatric diagnostics,OAE, VNG, rotational chair, platform posturography, VEMP, ABR, ECochG, CAPD, amplification, and vestibular treatment)
- Clinical supervision and mentoring of doctor of audiology students
- Research/scholarly productivity
- Participating in service to the University, profession, and community
- Contributing to the audiology departmental teaching and program development, as well asinterdisciplinary teaching and interaction between the various programs/schools within ATSU (audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, athletic training, dental, and osteopathic medicine)
Additional preferred qualifications: independent private practice experience, expertise in vestibular assessment and treatment, experience with implantable devices, prior academic teaching and possible other areas of expertise.
