Job Description

The Department of Microbiology/Immunology at ATSU-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time (12-month) faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level.

Candidates must have a PhD or other terminal degree in immunology, medical microbiology, or a related biomedical discipline, with at least two years of postdoctoral experience. Because our primary responsibility is teaching the next generation of healthcare providers, the successful applicant must demonstrate a strong potential to teach at a professional school level, while also developing a sustainable independent research program. The successful applicant will be provided with an individual office, laboratory, and start-up funds. All faculty have access to core imaging facilities, a fluorescence-activated cell sorter, and animal care without per diem charges.

This position requires an individualized balance between teaching, research, and service at KCOM and the Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health as designated by the department chair. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Teaching responsibilities will include traditional PowerPoint-supported lectures, small group sessions, and wet lab exercises. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full-time faculty in good standing receive three-year rolling contracts.

Qualified applicants should send a completed ATSU Employment Application, curriculum vitae, a teaching statement and research interests, and contact information for three references to hr@atsu.edu. Please visit jobs.atsu.edu to complete the online application process.
