Job Description

A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs on the Kirksville, MO campus.  The Assistant Dean will assist in clinical rotation oversight including site visits and development as well as the development of the shared third and fourth-year standard curriculum across all regions. The Assistant Dean will oversee faculty and preceptor development programs for clinical sites along with issues related to regional site needs. 

Major job duties include:

  • Oversee delivery of the third and fourth-year curriculum
  • Assist in new clinical site development and maintenance of existing sites
  • Develop a program for preceptors and clinical regional faculty development
  • Participate in clinical site visits to monitor needs for accreditation purposes
  • Supervise and provide oversight of preceptor faculty and clinical coordinators
  • Serve on KCOM Assessment Committee to coordinate student clinical assessment

Skills/Requirements:

  • DO/MD degree
  • 1 to 2 years of experience
  • Experience in medical education 
  • Experience in clinical site development and delivery
  • Understanding of student assessment and evaluation
  • Understanding of faculty development needs
  • Ability to travel to rotation sites (approx 20% of the job)
