Job Description

The Department of Biochemistry at ATSU-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time (12 month) faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with a salary that is both competitive and commensurate to those who meet qualifications and experience requirements. Highly qualified applicants may be considered for appointment at a higher level. Position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.

The position requires a balance between teaching, research, and service at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM), the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health (MOSDOH), and the Master’s program in Biomedical Sciences as designated by the department chair. Teaching responsibilities at KCOM and MOSDOH will include traditional PowerPoint lectures, small group sessions, and other active learning exercises.

Skills / Requirements

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in biochemistry or a related biomedical discipline with at least two years of postdoctoral experience. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong potential to develop an independent research program in biochemistry that may involve Master’s students and the ability to teach at a professional school level. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
