Job Description

A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health seeks an Associate Director on it's St. Louis, MO campus.  The Associate Director will coordinate, manage and implement all Continuing Education, faculty development, and CERP accreditation. This position is based in St. Louis, but will require some travel to the Kirksville, MO campus. 

Major Job Duties:

  • Identifies topics and objectives for continuing education and implements strategic plans
  • Directs continuing education operations, course registration and coordination of budgets
  • Develops collaborate partnerships with the dental and dental hygiene community, educational institutions, university departments and state/federal agencies to promote training
  • Oversees the development of new continuing education and professional development programs based on market demand
  • Directs marketing efforts to promote continuing education program to the community and faculty in collaboration with ATSU marketing efforts
  • Coordinates and implements policies, procedures and standards for continuing education programs and ensures compliance with university, state and accreditation agency regulations
  • Conducts regular bench-marking, reviews reports and performance assessments to ensure department goals are met
  • Manage MOSDOH's Continuing Education Program
  • Obtain and manage MOSDOH CERP accreditation

Skills/Requirements:

  • College plus postgraduate studies in Higher Education Administration, Business Management or Public Affairs
  • 1-2 years of experience in Healthcare and project management, working with individuals in the dental professions, conducting basic analysis and outcomes assessment
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, including learning styles, distance learning theories and practices, best practices in teaching
  • Knowledge of instructional technology and pedagogy
  • Ability to interact and provide information to individuals and groups
  • Ability to manage the budget
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to independently manage training and development projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
