AT Still University/School of Osteopathic Medicine is looking for a responsible student achievement success coordinator (SASC) who will provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement to better prepare students for successful placement into graduate medical education programs. The SASC will monitor, analyze, and make recommendations to help prepare students for professional and academic milestones. SASC will provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement to ensure that students receive and optimally utilize student success resources. SASC will design, implement, and analyze a database that incorporates academic/professional student performance and residency placement in collaboration with the education integrated specialist (EIS).

The SASC should have completed a bachelor's, preferred masters completed or enrolled in education. The SASC should have 2-3 years of experience in a university setting with medical students and data analysis.

Major Job Duties:

The Student Achievement Success Coordinator to the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Assitant Dean of Student Achievement to better prepare students for successful placement into graduate medical education programs.
  • Monitor, analyze, and make recommendations to help prepare students for professional and academic milestones.
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement to ensure that students receive and optimally utilize student success resources.
  • Design, implement, and analyze a database that incorporates academic/professional student performance and residency placement in collaboration with the Education Integrated Specialist (EIS).
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with helping guide students to maximize their success in years 1-4 to ensure optimal residency placement.
    • Assist with assessing student academic performance.
    • Assist with preparation and review of student individual portfolios and student documentation related to residency.
    • Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Curricular Integration, their coordinator and ATSU SOMA staff to ensure students have access to available resources.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Medical Education(s) (RDMEs) and develop strategies with individual CHC cohorts to ensure students are well-equipped to perform successfully on national board examinations and with residency and post residency placement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Assessments and Outcomes to analyze and synthesize performance and residency match data.
  • Provide data analysis regarding residency and academics related information to the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement.
  • Conduct workshops and individual sessions for students in preparation for COMLEX Level 1/USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 2/Step 2CK exams.
  • Conduct sessions/workshops related to student professional development in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with the coordination of the faculty advising program and alumni and peer mentorship programs.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with collaboration with Student Affairs (Student Life, Learning Advisors/PAL tutoring program).
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with setting up and attend periodic student sessions with CHC sites.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with the residency matches and post-match processes.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with updating the website created for student professional development and residency resources.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement with identifying, monitoring and assisting unmatched students.
  • Serve as a member of the ATSU SOMA At Risk committee, ATSU SOMA Student Performance Committee and attend student monitoring meetings.
  • Support the Assistant Dean of Student Achievement as needed in his/her duties.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree completed in Business, Communication, Education. Preferred masters completed or enrolled in education.

Experience required: Must have two to three years’ experience with large medical practice business background with experience in higher education. Must be knowledgeable in data analysis and forecasting experience, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet creation and management. Ability to read and analyze data and communicate professionally to faculty, staff, and students. Ability to make sound decisions. Ability to solve practical problems, sometimes under great pressure and tight deadlines. Ability to work with faculty/staff/students in professional manner. High degree of confidentiality. Advanced MS Excel and Access abilities.

Experience with Microsoft® software, Windows® operating system, databases and basic computer skills.  Professional written and verbal communication. Ability and flexibility to complete and maintain various job tasks as requested.  Strong team-work attitude. Ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students and general public.
